Keroro Gunsou

Producing over three hundred episodes is a rare feat in modern broadcasting, yet Sunrise managed exactly that with this 2004 action comedy. Based on a popular manga, the story follows Sergeant Keroro, the bumbling captain of an advance scout unit from the planet Keron. His mission is to conquer Earth, but his plans quickly derail after his advanced platoon abandons him. Captured by the Hinata family, the amphibious invader is forced to do household chores and spend his free time building Gundam model kits instead of executing military strategy. Across its massive 358-episode run, the series introduces brainwashing schemes, ancient alien theories, and an endless barrage of pop-culture parodies. Rated at a solid 7.7, it delivers an episodic, cartoonish chaos driven by a cast of antiheroes who are remarkably bad at their jobs. It is a wildly unpredictable sitcom disguised as a sci-fi invasion story.
