Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu

A darkly comic middle-school crush begins with a boy whose chuunibyou thoughts make ordinary school life feel far more dramatic than it is. Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu follows that awkward inner world as a boy-meets-girl story shaped by sharp character writing, comedy, drama, and coming-of-age change. Its 12-episode 2023 TV season, produced by Shin-Ei Animation, focuses less on big plot machinery than on small shifts in behavior, self-image, and connection. The character-driven approach gives its embarrassing moments room to land while letting the emotional stakes grow at a measured pace. Tags such as “drastic change of life” point toward a relationship that affects more than a single crush. With an 8.2 score, it has found a strong audience among viewers who enjoy tender awkwardness, gradual development, and humor that grows from personality rather than spectacle.
