Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na!

Science SARU brought their signature alternating animation style to the small screen in 2020 for a chaotic adventure through the world of independent animation. The story centers on three high school girls who drag each other into filmmaking, navigating an absurdly powerful student council to protect their Audio-Visual Club. Over 12 episodes, the series blends 3D CG elements with hand-drawn sketches to visually map out the creative process. Instead of focusing solely on the polished final product, the anime spends most of its time exploring the messy, frustrating, and thrilling brainstorming phases. Action sequences often occur entirely within the characters' imaginations, serving as testing grounds for their animation concepts. Scoring an impressive 8.1, this TV series captures the sheer effort required to bring drawings to life. The franchise's massive success even led to a live-action Japanese movie adaptation. The result is a deeply meta viewing experience that functions as both a comedy about school clubs and a love letter to the craft of animation itself.
