Kakushigoto

Ajia-do’s 2020 TV series Kakushigoto makes its form part of the appeal. Across 12 episodes, it uses an achronological order, alternating animation styles, black-and-white imagery, and 3D CGI, creating a viewing experience that asks you to notice how the story is being presented. Amnesia and angst point toward a more emotionally unsettled side, while the series’ manga origins give it a clear connection to illustrated storytelling. The mix of standard animation, CGI, and monochrome passages may feel deliberately varied rather than visually uniform. Its 7.9 score suggests a well-regarded series for viewers who enjoy piecing together information and watching style carry emotional weight. Finished and concise, Kakushigoto suits an audience willing to let structure and mood guide the introduction instead of demanding a straightforward timeline from the opening episode.
