Bungou Stray Dogs 2nd Season

Studio Bones brings its A-game to this 2016 continuation, pushing the score to an impressive 8.1 across 12 episodes. Shifting gears from the comedic antics of the first season, this installment leans heavily into angst and anti-war themes. The story splits its focus, dedicating a significant portion to the dark pasts of central characters before plunging back into the present-day turmoil. Viewers get a closer look at the conflicts that shaped the Armed Detective Agency and the Port Mafia. The dynamic animation blends 3D CG elements with fluid hand-drawn combat, keeping the action feeling weighty despite the supernatural absurdity. With an adult cast navigating morally gray areas, the narrative explores the psychological toll of their abilities. It delivers a solid blend of action comedy and genuine tragedy, proving that these literary-inspired characters have more to offer than just name recognition.
