Kaijuu 8-gou

Kaijuu 8-gou is a 12-episode TV series from 2024, produced by Production I.G., that mixes monster action with an adult cast and a streak of action comedy. Its apocalyptic setting gives the threats real scale, while body-horror elements add a more physical edge to the danger. Aviation is part of the series’ identity too, bringing an extra military flavor to its battles and adventure. The result aims for broad appeal: tense creature encounters, energetic set pieces, and enough humor to keep the mood from staying grim for long. Based on a manga, it also carries the brisk, serialized feel associated with that format. With an 8.4 score and a finished 12-episode run, it is a compact choice for viewers who want a modern monster series without committing to a very long first season.
