Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu. 2nd Season

Returning for a second year at Itan Private High School, this 2022 OLM production continues the heartwarming yet hilarious journey of Shouko Komi. Still battling severe social anxiety, Komi remains determined to achieve her dream of making one hundred friends. Over the course of twelve episodes, the series leans heavily into its character-driven comedy, spotlighting the eccentric classmates who orbit her quiet life. The show balances its comedic beats with a genuine coming-of-age narrative, treating Komi's communication disorder with sincere empathy. Returning characters prone to chuunibyou antics keep the daily life atmosphere energetic and absurd, while the animation studio maintains a wonderfully expressive visual style. Scoring an impressive 8.1, the second season deepens the interpersonal dynamics, proving that a high school comedy can successfully mix laugh-out-loud gags with a sincere, relatable portrayal of overcoming personal hurdles.
