Nami yo Kiitekure

Sunrise delivers a uniquely fast-talking slice of life in this 2020 anime, adapted from a manga that also inspired a live-action Japanese drama. When a messy breakup leads Minare Koda to drunkenly vent her frustrations to a radio director, her impromptu rant ends up broadcasted on the air. Suddenly, she finds herself thrust into the world of talk radio. Spanning twelve episodes, the series earns its 7.3 score through incredibly sharp, dialogue-heavy scripting and a refreshing focus on an adult cast navigating their careers. The narrative thrives on Minare's chaotic energy and her distinct Hokkaido dialect, bringing daily life to the microphone. While the show employs some noticeable CGI for crowd shots and background movement, the strength lies in its character-driven writing. The voice acting is top-tier, perfectly matching the breakneck speed of the broadcast booth. It is an infectious workplace comedy about finding your voice.
