Da Yu Hai Tang (Movie)

A young figure caught between an alternative world and the afterlife gives Da Yu Hai Tang its dreamy, mournful pull. This 2016 movie builds its identity around 3D CG animation, animal transformation, anthropomorphic characters, and a distinctly Asian fantasy sensibility. The result is an adventure that feels more like a visual fable than a brisk quest, with angst and animal abuse tags pointing to heavier emotional material beneath its striking imagery. At one episode and roughly feature length, it offers a complete, focused viewing experience rather than a long commitment. B&T, Biantian (Beijing) Culture Co., Ltd., and Studio Mir share the studio credits, and its 7.5 score suggests a film with clear appeal for viewers drawn to unusual animation and somber fantasy. Expect atmosphere, transformation, and emotional weight to matter as much as forward momentum.
