Isshuukan Friends.

Brain's Base brought this twelve-episode series to life in the Spring 2014 season, adapting a charming four-panel comic into a quiet, character-driven story about memory and connection. The premise centers on a high school girl whose amnesia wipes her friendships every Monday, forcing a well-meaning classmate to reintroduce himself week after week. Through this repetitive cycle, the show explores the fragile nature of building trust, touching upon themes of bullying and childhood memories without resorting to heavy melodrama. The pacing is deliberately gentle, allowing the emotional beats to breathe and resonate. Scoring a solid 7.6, the series thrives on its heartfelt atmosphere and relatable adolescent struggles. Viewers looking for a soothing yet poignant viewing experience will appreciate how the narrative handles the persistence required to maintain meaningful relationships despite daunting neurological hurdles.
