Kidou Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans 2nd Season

Peace is rarely an option for those raised in the crucible of war. Airing in Fall 2016, this 25-episode Sunrise production continues the journey of Mikazuki Augus and the Tekkadan mercenary group. Holding an 8.2 score, this action drama shifts focus slightly, initially exploring themes of agriculture and stability before dragging its anti-heroes back into the meat grinder of galactic conflict. The series stands out for its unflinching look at the toll of being a child soldier. Characters who fought for childhood promises and a place to belong now face the harsh realities of betrayal and collateral damage. The narrative doesn't shy away from the moral ambiguity of its cast, nor does it ignore the underlying bonds—some leaning into boys' love subtext—that keep them anchored. It is a heavy, often bleak viewing experience that finds humanity in the depths of human cruelty.
