Kuroshitsuji: Midori no Majo-hen

Returning for the Spring 2025 anime season, this highly anticipated continuation from Cloverworks pushes Ciel and Sebastian into a sprawling, witch-centric conspiracy. Scoring an impressive 8.2, the thirteen-episode arc adapts one of the source material's most beloved storylines. Here, the narrative trades the confines of Victorian London for a distinct brand of contemporary fantasy. The Queen's Watchdog is dispatched to investigate a series of suspicious deaths linked to a local witch. Expect a heavier emphasis on action, political maneuvering, and dark comedy, leaning heavily into the anti-hero nature of the central duo. The animation brings the 19th-century European atmosphere to life with striking detail, and the supernatural contractor relationship between the protagonists is put to the test. Fans of dark fantasy mysteries featuring supernatural contracts will find this adaptation to be a thoroughly satisfying, high-quality production that builds perfectly on the franchise's gothic roots.
