Natsume Yuujinchou San

Released in summer 2011, Natsume Yuujinchou San is a 13-episode TV series from Brain’s Base with an 8.5 score. Its tags point toward a supernatural drama shaped by afterlife themes, animal companionship, archery, body takeover, and the uneasy idea of a body serving as a host. Adoption and bodyguards add a human dimension, placing questions of protection and belonging beside stranger spiritual concerns. The presence of alcohol hints at a more mature social texture than a purely childlike fantasy, while its manga source suggests a measured, character-led pace. Rather than presenting its supernatural material as spectacle alone, the season appears built for viewers who enjoy emotional tension that can sit quietly inside an episode. This is a strong choice for a thoughtful summer watch: focused enough to finish in a few sittings, yet spacious enough for its unusual blend of tenderness, danger, and otherworldly unease.
