Death Note

A 37-episode thriller built around an anti-hero can make every decision feel like a test of judgment, and Death Note commits to that uneasy position. Madhouse's 2006 TV series uses an alternative present, achronological order, acting, and amnesia among its listed touchstones, giving the show a taste for shifting information and morally charged performance. Those elements point toward a viewing experience where attention matters: details may arrive out of sequence, while character choices carry more weight than simple hero-versus-villain certainty. The finished series earned an 8.6 score and has also been adapted into a Japanese movie, a J-drama, and other media, reflecting its wide reach. Its 37-episode length is substantial without becoming an endless commitment. Choose it for psychological tension, an ethically difficult lead, and a story that expects you to keep reassessing what you know.
