Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru II

A 2026 summer TV sequel, Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru II arrives with a 12-episode format and an 8.3 score, setting a high bar before its first episode airs. Its mix of action comedy, adventure, aristocracy, assassins, and conspiracy points toward a fast-moving fantasy follow-up with room for both swordplay and social maneuvering. The alternative-world setting gives the story space to contrast an unassuming older swordsman with nobles, trained killers, and larger political schemes. Hayabusa Film, Passione, and Yamato Works share production duties, an appealing combination for viewers watching its action craft and tonal balance. Since it is still upcoming, this is best approached as a promising continuation rather than a known quantity. Fans of light-novel adaptations that pair combat with dry humor and courtly intrigue have the clearest reason to keep this one on their summer watchlist.
