Mo Dao Zu Shi

Released as a 15-episode ONA in 2018, Mo Dao Zu Shi adapts a web novel into an action-adventure story shaped by ancient China, shifting timelines, and a morally complicated central figure. The achronological order asks you to assemble context as the series moves between past and present, while archery and supernatural conflict give its set pieces a distinct period flavor. Adoption appears among the story's themes, adding a family-centered thread to its anti-hero focus. Produced by B.C May Pictures and related credited studios, the series uses 3D CG animation as a defining part of its presentation. With an 8.3 score, it has earned a strong response from viewers who enjoy dense settings and narrative mystery. This is a good choice when you want adventure with a less straightforward structure.
