Tsuma, Shougakusei ni Naru.

Take one grieving widower, add the spirit of his late wife returning in the body of an elementary school girl, and you have the core tension driving this twelve-episode dramedy from Studio Signpost. The 2024 Fall title walks an unusual tonal tightrope, mining genuine comedy from its supernatural setup while also asking real questions about loss, letting go, and what it means to keep living after someone you love is gone. The female lead's reappearance as a child gives the story both its lighter comedic beats and its heavier emotional ones, as she reconnects with the husband she left behind under impossible new circumstances. Family life and the everyday rhythms of a household disrupted by death—and then by the absurd—ground the fantastical premise in recognizable human feeling. With a solid 7.5 score, it has found an audience willing to embrace its peculiar blend of ghost-story melancholy and earnest drama. Based on a manga, the series adapts its source across a complete run that balances warmth with melancholy.
