Hataraku Saibou

The human body is a stressful place to work, especially if you are a red blood cell constantly getting lost in the vascular system. David Production takes this biological concept and turns it into a high-octane thirteen-episode action series. Rather than a standard educational program, Hataraku Saibou anthropomorphizes cells into working-class heroes fighting daily battles against terrifying germs and pathogens. You follow an energetic but directionally challenged Red Blood Cell and a stoic White Blood Cell who acts as a ruthless assassin against invading bacteria. The 2018 show uses a mix of traditional animation and 3D CG elements to bring these microscopic clashes to life, resulting in explosive combat sequences that earn its solid 7.6 rating. This alternative world setting takes standard bodily functions—like a scrape on the knee or a cedar allergy—and transforms them into massive, thrilling incidents. It manages to sneak in genuine biology facts while remaining highly entertaining.
