Shiguang Dailiren II

Picking up the pieces after a devastating first season, this 2023 ONA pushes its protagonists into even darker psychological territory. Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang return to explore the complexities of their time-bending photography business. This second cour maintains the studio's signature achromatic aesthetic for past timelines, contrasting sharply with the present as the duo navigates achronological storylines and intense crime fiction elements. With 12 episodes that meticulously raise the stakes, the narrative leans heavily into its adult cast and contemporary fantasy roots, introducing terrifying new antagonists. The show's impressive 8.6 score is a clear reflection of its tight pacing and the emotional weight of its body-swapping mechanics. It is a masterclass in suspense, proving that Chinese animation can deliver thrilling, mature mysteries that keep viewers guessing until the very last frame.
