Shiguang Dailiren: Yingdu Pian

Shifting gears from the overarching thriller plotline, this 2024 ONA takes audiences back to a localized, character-driven mystery. Produced by Shanghai Phantom alongside CMC Media, the six-episode installment transplants the core body-swapping premise into a university environment. Here, the narrative explores a self-contained arc heavily inspired by classic literature themes, focusing on bullying, basketball team dynamics, and poignant age regression elements. The short runtime keeps the tension high, relying on the established chemistry of the adult cast to carry a story that feels deeply personal. Scoring a commendable 8.2, the series maintains the emotional weight of its predecessor while exploring complex bisexual undertones and the lingering scars of youth trauma. Fans of Chinese animation will find this brief return to the photographer's dark room to be a satisfying, tightly wound detour into memory and regret.
